Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then found many other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important political figure said the incident left him stunned and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
